If you forget your iPhone passcode and can't, don't worry. These are a few ways that can help you bypass the passcode on your iPhone to get back into the device:

Method 1. Using iTunes (if you have previously synced your iPhone with iTunes)

  1. Connect your iPhone to the computer you have previously used to sync.
  2. Open iTunes. If you are asked for a passcode, try another computer you have synced with, or use recovery mode (see below).
  3. Wait for iTunes to sync your device and make a backup. If it does, restore your iPhone from this backup to regain access.

Method 2. Using Recovery Mode (if you haven't synced with iTunes)

  1. Connect your iPhone to your computer and open iTunes.
  2. Force restart your iPhone:
  3. On an iPhone 8 or later: Press and quickly release the Volume Up button, press and quickly release the Volume Down button, then press and hold the Side button until you see the recovery mode screen.
  4. On an iPhone 7 or 7 Plus: Press and hold both the Side and Volume Down buttons at the same time. Keep holding them until you see the recovery mode screen.
  5. On an iPhone 6s and earlier: Press and hold both the Home and the Top (or Side) buttons at the same time. Keep holding them until you see the recovery mode screen.
  6. When you get the option to restore or update in iTunes, choose Restore.
  7. iTunes will download software for your device. If it takes more than 15 minutes, your device will exit recovery mode and you'll need to repeat the steps to re-enter recovery mode.

Method 3. Using iCloud (if Find My iPhone is enabled)

  1. Go to iCloud.com and sign in with your Apple ID.
  2. Click on "Find iPhone".
  3. Select your iPhone from the "All Devices" drop-down menu.
  4. Click "Erase iPhone" to erase your iPhone and its passcode.
  5. After erasing, you can restore from a backup.

Note: These methods will erase your iPhone, but if you have a backup in iTunes or iCloud, you will be able to restore your data after erasing your device. If you don't have a backup, you may lose your data.

Bonus: How to restore your data from a backup

Yes, all three methods—using iTunes, Recovery Mode, and iCloud—will erase the data on your iPhone. This is a security measure to protect your data from unauthorized access.

However, if you have previously backed up your iPhone to iTunes or iCloud, you can restore your data from the backup after you have erased the device. Here are the steps to restore your data from a backup:

Option 1. Restoring from an iCloud Backup

  1. After your iPhone has been erased, follow the on-screen setup steps until you reach the "Apps & Data" screen.
  2. Select "Restore from iCloud Backup."
  3. Sign in to iCloud with your Apple ID.
  4. Choose the most recent backup and wait for the restore process to complete.

Option 2. Restoring from an iTunes Backup

  1. After your iPhone has been erased, connect it to the computer you used to back up.
  2. Open iTunes and select your device.
  3. Click "Restore Backup."
  4. Choose the most recent backup and wait for the restore process to complete.
